I've read so much about this decision, Gen 3 vs 4 and it's hard to decide (if you only had one type of deal). I went with a new Gen 3 (have shot 500 rounds through a Gen 3 upper with a P80 lower) and can't help but wonder if I will miss out on the dual recoil spring in the Gen 4 in the long run when I'm further along in my skillset (double-taps, etc)
The Gen 5 does not have the well defined wall but it has a smooth break and a nice reset. The grip cutout does not bother me in my Gen 5 19. However I prefer the finger grooves of the Gen 4 because I feel my grip is more secure with it. The finger grooves are nice if your fingers line up with them.
The model number, in this case “19,” was originally tied, sequentially, to Gaston Glock’s personal invention patents—i.e. the original Glock 19 was his 19 th invention. Now those numbers 2. The size and design of the G19 makes it an incredibly easy gun to handle, which is why it’s one of the top-rated self-defense handguns for women. G19. The Glock 19 is the G17’s compact twin.

The Glock 19 Gen 5 is a Glock 19, so it is the perfect combination of size and capacity. Some folks will like the absence of front-strap finger grooves. The nDLC coating delivers a better looking finish than that of the Gen 4. Like the Gen 4, the Gen 5 has interchangeable back straps.

They are as reliable abd durable as Glock can get. I actually like the finger grooves on my gen 3 G19 (that many people hate) because they fit my hands well. I have tried my friend’s gen 5 G19 once and its “out-of-the-box” trigger was as good as my other well broken in Glocks, though.

Glock also offered the Glock 41 Gen 4 with an MOS option for an optic. The standard Glock 21 Gen 4 is not listed on Glock’s site with an optics cut, though that was added in the later Gen 5 pistols.

The Mk. 25 has a 4.4-inch barrel, nearly half an inch shorter than the Beretta M9, and the handgun is chambered for nine-millimeter parabellum. The frame is made from a steel alloy, while the

I appreciate you answering back 🙏🏽🙏🏽 do you know of a good website to get actual OEM internal parts I have a gen 4 but I can’t find any besides “OEM spec” which I don’t trust so I may just do OEM gen 5 and puzzle piece the parts that aren’t interchangeable bc I can find them all when I look for them separately but not in the kit
The weapon features a 4.02-inch-long barrel, an overall length of 7.28 inches, a height of 5.04 inches, and it weighs a little over 30 ounces, fully loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm. It’s smaller than most duty-sized handguns, like the M9, M17, and M1911. The Glock 19 is a good in-between size that allows it to serve as both a duty handgun and a Two of those grips also come with built-in beavertails. The real difference between the Gen4 and Gen5 is the finger grooves, which appear on the Gen4 but not the 5. Texture. The texture on the Glock 19 is going to vary, again, based on generation.

The dimensions of the same model in the Gen 4 and 5 are nearly the same. The exception is in the overall width. Using the popular Glock 19 as an example, the Gen 4 overall width is 1.26 inches. The Gen 5 is 1.34 inches. It doesn’t seem like much.

The Gen 4 is slightly slimmer at 1.26 inches overall width. The weight of the Gen 5 with a full mag of ammo is the same as the Gen 4. Both guns come in at 30.16 ounces fully loaded. There are some obvious changes to the Gen 5 that experienced Glock shooters will notice right away.
Go with Gen 4 or even better is the Gen 3. Two of my Emergency response team members ordered the Gen 5 G26's and both had jamming problems. One had the slide lock release lever spring jump out of place. I am not a fan of the ambidextrous slide release lever modification Glock did in the Gen 5. I currently have, and/or have owned 7 Glock Gen 3's.
The G17 takes generous 17-round magazines and the 19 holds 15 rounds, meaning no compromises on capacity. Glock 17 (G17) Standard, Full-Size Handgun, Available in 3rd, 4th, in 5th Generation Models. The Glock is slightly longer, but isn’t quite as wide or as tall.
